ISU James D. McKean Swine Disease Conference
The latest in clinical cases using the latest tools and research in swine disease and production issues. Focus areas will be on tools to help manage disease such as PRRS, Strep suis, PCV2, Mycoplasma, and E.coli. We will also be focusing on continuing to be increase our level of FAD preparedness and feral swine by learning more about the explosion of feral swine in Canada that border our northern U.S. states as our Roy Schultz Lecture. We are going to have several case presentation from practitioners and faculty at the VDL and VDPAM on new tools to combat diseases such as PRRS, Streptococcus suis and sow mortality. We also are going to hear from various students working in areas such as mortality forecasting, new sampling types, biosecurity and water line biology. Conference Goals To enable swine practitioners to assist pork producers in a rapidly changing and global production environment. To enhance practitioner decision-making tools in disease control, animal welfare, and food safety for the benefit of animals, clients and consumers.
