WelFarmers represented in FIGAN 2025

During this event, WelFarmers participated in a technical day focused on animal welfare and had the opportunity to explain its project to nearly 100 attendees, emphasizing its approach of being a project created by producers for producers.  

The technical day at FIGAN 2025, which took place on March 27th, 2025, had and interesting agenda which included: 

• WelFarmers Project presentation: Javier Lorente Martín, introduced and explained the "WelFarmers" European project. 
• Presentations: 
  • Animal welfare in Europe: present and future by Lluís Vegas. Where Lluis gave his overview about where we are and where we are going. 
  • Animal welfare in Latin America: a different approach by Diego Lescano. Where we could understand better some differences related animal welfare between Europe and Latin America and where the results from a survey done with experts in different countries were presented. 
• Roundtable: A roundtable discussion followed the presentations, featuring different approaches to addressing animal welfare and fostering collaboration among stakeholders. 

The session was marked by lively interaction and robust debate from the audience, underscoring the high level of interest and engagement in pig welfare improvements.
